The Life and Times...

My friend adores the Chinese Proverb: May you live in interesting times. In fact, she too has that on her blog. I want to adopt it...We all definitely live in interesting times whether they are fabulous, exhausting or jinxed. No matter what, let us all live like there is "No Day but Today!"

Recap - and interesting discoveries

OK - So, quickly let me recap the past few days. First and foremost, Thanksgiving was great. I worked a lot to get everything ready, but this day was truly not as stressful as Thanksgivings past. Our meal was great - if I do say so myself - and the deserts and rolls that everyone else brought were great (especially the rolls, Thanks, KT). There was a great deal of quality time with the family and the day ended with the coldest game ever - 0 degree windchill and 16 degrees without the wind. Needlesstosay, I wimped out at half time and went home with my Aunt Patty. In the parking lot a random girl got into the car with us and refused to get out. She thought my aunt was Ferris and I was Betty. She was so drunk and the "last one hit by lighting" whatever that means. If you want to hear that whole story, please ask - it is hilarious.

The night before Thanksgiving, TJ and I went to see RENT. It was great!! They truly did a wonderful job adapting it to the big screen. I thought we would either love it, hate it or be disappointed. Loved it was the outcome! We didn't get home until 12:45 and then had to prepare the Turkey for baking. I was uber tired but whatever - it was totally worth it.

Now, let me talk a litte about the picture on my page. I have wanted to see Brkeback Mountain for a long time. I am an IMDB junkie so to speak and I like to look ans see what my favorite actors and actresses are up to. All that know me know that I love Dawsons Creek, so I look into those characters often. I have known that Michelle Williams (Jen on Dawsons Creek) was going to be in this movie with Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal to be realesed in late 2005. I have wanted to see it and wanted to see it. I love Heath and Jake as well as all of my Dawsons cast - why would I not love this movie? I had no idea what it was really about and didn't really care either (again, Heath, Jake, Dawsons!).

Well, as we walked into RENT, there was a poster up for the movie and I got so excited. I told TJ how much I wanted to see the movie and the I couldn't wait. Then there was a trailer for it before RENT. Now, the tagline for Brokeback Mountain is "Love is a Force of Nature." and IMDB's plot summary is "A raw, powerful story of two young men, a Wyoming ranch hand and a rodeo cowboy, who meet in the summer of 1963 sheepherding in the harsh, high grasslands of contemporary Wyoming and form an unorthodox yet life-long bond--by turns ecstatic, bitter and conflicted." I wasn't quite expecting that their "unorthodox yet life-long bond" meant that Heath and Jake are lovers who are married and leading secret lives. I still want to see it, but I am not sure about it now - Heath and Jake making out? Making Love? Wierd. I will post more after I see the movie in January I assume (it is out in NYC and LA Dec 9, expanding Dec 16 and full release in January - it won't come to Mo'town on expanded release I don't think).

All in all, a great holiday, and I hope everyone enjoyed theirs as well. I am thankful for my wonderful husband, wonderful and healthy friends and family, lazy days and my baby dogs!

Off to Philly for a wedding. Linz:)
