The Life and Times...

My friend adores the Chinese Proverb: May you live in interesting times. In fact, she too has that on her blog. I want to adopt it...We all definitely live in interesting times whether they are fabulous, exhausting or jinxed. No matter what, let us all live like there is "No Day but Today!"

Dogs

I love dogs. I love my Trinity and Gizmo and my "brother" Aussie and even those little rat dogs, my "aunts" Sugar and Joy. But I am not sure how well I take all of them being here at one time - don't freak out yet...Sugar and Joy are in Fl - as Aussie, Trinity and Gizmo all CHOMP on rawhide bones. They are so loud.

We are keeping Aussie until mom and dad get back from vacation. He is crazy - and whines at you for no apparent reason. It may be a long two weeks...or three.

I also want to send a shout out to Blaine...she is such a sweet girl (Mookie, you did a great job with your sister!). HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TOMORROW! (I didn't want to forget!)

Later!

Isn't that some S*#t...

First and foremost, I want to put an aside to this blog...today, I have watch parts of Chasing Liberty and I am now watching First Daughter - I told you all they were like my favorite movies...kinda the same...but you know!

Now, to the point of this post. If you are a normal reader of this blog, you know about Brokeback Mountain and my fascination with it. I have been dying to see it for about forever (and of course, I wasn't 100% sure what it was about until we saw Rent and then it was way obvious). The first release date was in December...then wide release on December 23 and then it was pushed back and pushed back and pushed back. Well, I was getting aggravated and annoyed because it was not coming to Morgantown. One weekend, TJ and I almost traveled to DC to visit Mookie and see the movie. Then the next weekend it was still not in Morgantown. That was about the time that Heath Ledger said that he heard that the movie was banned in Utah (the Mormons) and in West Virginia (because "they just stopped lynching people like 25 years ago). I thought that was kinda a bunch of crap, but still wanted to see the movie and it wouldn't surprise me that some people in our state would be so shallow as to not want it to come into our state.

So, the closest place to see the movie was Pittsburgh. We went last weekend to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and to see Brokeback Mountain with Shannon. We had a great time - the problem was that we waited forever for a table to eat (well worth it by the way) and then had to miss the early show and saw a 9:50 movie. I loved the movie - TJ thought it was boring and I think Shannon liked it too - and was so glad that we did make the trip to see the movie.

Now, the s#*t of it is that that damn movie came out in Morgantown yesterday! ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!?! I mean, the trip to Pittsburgh was really fun and a cool thing for us to do, but that is so my luck! After we see the movie in ANOTHER state, it comes to the theater two seconds from our house! URGH!

4x4 Fun in My Blog Too!

OK, so Mookie tagged me to answer the 4x4 questions. Obviously I am going to answer them, because I DO NOT want to be doing what I am actually supposed to be doing! (And now you know!)

4 Jobs You've Had
1. American Red Cross DRD Field Rep (underappriciated, overworked bitch for the ARC)
2. Realtor (wish I could make a living - like, a good one - by this and this alone!)
3. Cutco Salesperson (if only had some of those knives with me when needed on certain occasion!)
4. PCS Lego Lab Instructor (the most fun by far - today, lets build a playground...tomorrow we will build a remote control car!)

4 Movies You Could Watch Over and Over
1. 10 Things I Hate About You (See, my teenie-bopper pops out again)
2. Chasing Liberty and First Daughter (yes, these are two different movies, but essentially the same! We'll call them one movie for this purpose...pretty much the same plot line - 1st Daugter wants freedom...tricked by the Secret Service)
3. Better Off Dead (I want my 2 DOLLARS!)
4. Wedding Crashers (This is by far the funniest movie EVER put on the big screen. If you saw 40 Year Old Virgin and thought it was funny...it wasn't - SEE WEDDING CRASHERS!)

4 Places You've Lived
(This isn't going to be too exciting!)
1. Bishop Drive, Morgantown
2. Overhill Street, Morgantown
3. Copperfield Court, Morgantown
4. Boreman North, Morgantown
(told ya...otherwise I have lived in three houses in Beckley?)

4 TV Shows You Love To Watch
1. Desperate Housewives
2. Grey's Anatomy
3. PrisonBreak
4. American Idol

4 Places You've Been On Vacation
1. Florida (yes, that is broad, but I seem to go there a lot and to many different places)
2. South Dakota
3. Ski Resorts in British Columbia, Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming
4. London

4 Favorite Foods
(Not that we eat them in excess right now though and in no particular order)
1. Mushrooms (any way...stuffed, plain, sauted, in EVERYTHING)
2. Cheeseburgers (beef or turkey...just don't forget the cheese!)
3. Pizza (I know, so common and collegiate)
4. Steak (good beef - like filet or...well grilled...good grilled beef)

4 Places You'd Rather Be Right Now
(Anywhere...does that count?)
1. In bed with the heated blanket on and TJ, Trinity and Gizmo all cuddling with me
2. In a pool swimming somewhere (don't really care) with a nice breeze and 80 degrees
3. DC - Metro Area fine as well
4. Hawaii (never been, but feel the need and think I would be having a pretty good time)

4 Sites You Visit Daily
1. Web CT (school :()
2. mookieam131.blogspot.com
3. makingnoyes.com
4. msnsportsnet.com

4 Bloggers I would Tag
Yeah, I am not going to do this part...like Nana...furthermore, would Mookie do it again? And I would tag Amy or Candace, but they are worse at blogging than me and I don't know if they read my blog or not. So, if I missed you, you are off the hook! Good for you!

And now, you all know a little more about me. :)

Freedom

I am not sure when the last time I felt this sense of freedom was! I am so excited...a bit scared...but mostly so excited. With the support of my family and friends, I have left my job. You know, the craptastic one I have complained and complained about? Well, no longer...we can now blog about happier things!

YEAH!!!!!!!!

Today...

Today, I thought A LOT about things I can do to make money that do not include working for the big bad...well, you know where work. I have made a top ten listas an ode to Letterman -

10. Research rock quarries that I could sell products to in order of re-convincing my dad and uncle that I can indeed throw down in the dirt with the "good ole boys" and spit and scratch my crotch.
9. Ask NESS to support me for a month while I work toward finding a new job and focus on the organization and alumni association.
8. Beg Jann to let me work for her again to replace the multitude of preggers at her office while they are out on maternity leave or just out for good (as it is).
7. Write a novel or childrens book and get puclished ASAP.
6. Write freelance articles for random magazines in which I find interesting.
5. Find a topic I am passionate about and become a motivational speaker - this entails finding a company to underwrite (thus fund) my travels, cause and new career.
4. Design wreaths and sell them - they would have personalized pictures on them that people would e-mail to me.
3. Find things in my home and sell them on E-Bay until I find a "real" job.
2. Start a catering business where I cook dinners for families that they can freeze and then just pop in the oven.

AND the top thing I could do is...

1. Find someone to take pitty on my and fund the "Find Lindsay a new job" fund.

Does anyone think that any of these are possible? I am sure they are not possible - say tomorrow - and let me end this ickyness!

Welcome Back Williams!

Hi All! So, I am still around...I had gotten so in the blogging routine before Christmas and then the holiday break has broken my cycle. I aim to do better.

A recap -

Although you should know this by now, the Mountaineers won the Sugar Bowl!!!! Go 'EERS! You should have seen all of those UGA fans faces. It was great on TV (I watched it again the next weekend on ESPNCL) but those faces were even better up close and personal. For all of you who do not know this, UGA is the Bull Dawgs - btw, that is spelled correctly and we are the uneducated ones? - and they bark...a lot. There fans bark - they bark in general, at you, toward you, etc. It is really weird. But, as my dad kept on saying and saying - "there was no one barking at us on our walk back to the hotel!" It was like they all had on shock collars and could no longer bark. IT WAS GREAT! And, now we...the Mountaineers...a Big East school...will go into the next season as National Title contenders. No SHIT! Who would have thought that this year would end 11-1 in a REBUILDING year?

In general, it is just a great time to be a Mountaineer. The best in history actually. I am not a basketball fan, but come on - even they are on track for hopefully another Elite 8 showing...and hopefully better.

Otherwise, the holidays were great. I cooked a lot...and then some more! But truly loved every minute of it. If there is anyone out there who would like to pay me to cook for them, I would be more than happy as long as you can cover my current salary. I will quite and be your chef - I swear! No lie!

Well, I guess that is about all for now. American Idol starts again tonight! YIPPEE! I love that show, but why is it that EVERYTHING I want to watch comes on on Tuesdays? Note to all the programmers in the world - we have 7 days with nights...not all the good shows have to be on Tuesday and Sunday!

Glad to be back! Linz:)
